  1. Flip the PCB over and remove the LED connector and the keypad connector. Disconnecting the keypad may take some effort--be sure to pull straight to avoid bending the pins.

    Set the PCB aside.

  1. Peel the old keypad from the case. It may be easiest to start with a knife or flat-head screwdriver, inserting it between the keypad and the case along the right side near the #6 button, and prying the edge of the keypad up.

  1. Remove any adhesive residue and clean the surface of the case with an appropriate solvent.

RJS Associates recommends using denatured alcohol to clean the adhesive residue.

Allow the surface to dry thoroughly.

  1. Align the keypad to the case at one edge and work your way down. It may be necessary to tug slightly on the ribbon connector to get a good fit along the right edge.

Rub firmly over the entire surface to ensure a good bond. The adhesive will cure to full strength in approximately 24 hours.

  1. Assembly is the reverse of disassembly. Take care when installing the PCB to the case that the 8 red LEDs align properly with their holes.
